DeAndre McEwen, Jr. is a graduate of Hampton University. At Hampton, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in journalism, and a minor in Leadership Studies. Mr. McEwen also graduated with honors. DeAndre was inducted as a fellow in the William R. Harvey Leadership Institute program in 2020. He also served on the Executive Board of the Freddye T. Davy Honors College. DeAndre was inducted as a member of the Gamma Epsilon Chapter of The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in 2022.


DeAndre was a proud percussionist in the Hampton University Marching Force. He performed internationally in Rome, Italy, for the Pope during the 2020 New Year's day parade. As a percussionist, DeAndre participated in many high school recruiting events, performed for the 2021 Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York City, performed at The Honda Battle of the Bands in 2019, performed at the Brooklyn Nets halftime show, and performed at the U.S. Open.

Mr. McEwen has a keen interest in: diplomacy, media management, marketing, journalism, crisis communications, and Digital Entrepreneurship. While attending Hampton, DeAndre was the content editor for WHOV-TV. He was the Chapter Reporter for the Gamma Epsilon Chapter of The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated. Moreover, Mr. McEwen currently live streams services for churches in the Richmond area. Upon graduation in 2023, DeAndre plans to attend graduate school. He looks forward to the start of a successful career in Mass Communications.
